Tim’s journey in the concrete industry began as a summer job in the late 1970s. After high school, he turned that passion into a career, eventually moving to Victoria and founding South Island Concrete (SIC) in the early 90s. When the economy shifted in the late 1990s, Tim faced the difficult decision to downsize and relocate. He moved to Calgary in search of a fresh start—a move that turned out to be the best decision of his life. With just one phone call upon his arrival, Tim hit the ground running and has been a fixture of the Calgary concrete market for over 26 years. Today, Tim and his wife are proud Calgarians, enjoying watching their children build lives here and welcoming a new generation of grandkids.

After transitioning to the Calgary market in 2009, Ryan teamed up with Tim to provide a level of service rarely found in the industry. Ryan’s background in both small-town and urban concrete gives him a unique perspective on diverse project scenarios. While Ryan is an expert in every stage of the pour, his greatest strength is precision forming. By focusing on extreme accuracy during the initial measurement and layout phases, he ensures the end result is structurally sound and aesthetically perfect. As a dedicated family man, Ryan is proud to serve the Calgary community he calls home.

Sandy provided the impetus for Tim to start South Island Concrete and has been behind him for almost 30 years. She is the head bookkeeper, writes all the cheques, seals all the stamp jobs, expedites men, supplies equipment around the city, helps customers with color choices, and puts together the best lunches known to man! She is the glue that holds it all together and the company would not exist without her. She has also been told that she is the "best granny in the world".
